Train services between Ipswich and Cambridge are being delayed by up to 30 minutes and suspended at short notice due to a signal fault between Cambridge and Dullingham.
Some lines are blocked as a result of the fault, and disruption is expected until 3pm.
A spokesman for the company said: “Customers are advised this problem is affecting train services between Cambridge and Dullingham and the first trains affected will be the 12.20pm Ipswich to Cambridge service and 12.44pm Cambridge to Ipswich service.
“We are sorry if your journey is affected by this problem. Network Rail Engineers are working as quickly as possible to resolve this problem and restore a normal train service.”
A member of Network Rail arrived at Cambridge to fix the problem at around 1.10pm.
