The inspectors have just published a glowing report for Debenham High School, following an inspection in September.

They met with governors and the school head about three weeks ago to talk to them as part of the inspection process.

"They said that it was not only the best report that they had ever been involved with, but the best report they had ever read," said its clearly delighted head Michael Crawshaw.

He said it was an "outstanding report and everyone involved – students, staff, governors – deserve hearty congratulations."

The report on the school – which ranks sixth in the county in this year's GCSE league table – described the quality of the teaching as "very good" and said its improvement since the last OFSTED visit was "excellent".
