Pop star Cher has supported the campaign seeking to find RAF airman Corrie McKeague, who went missing in Bury St Edmunds almost a year ago.

The American singer and actress, sometimes referred to as “the Goddess of Pop”, recently retweeted a #Findcorrie appeal, which featured a picture of the missing airman in his uniform along with his oath of allegiance.

Corrie’s mother Nicola Urquhart replied: “Thank you Cher for taking the time to retweet for my missing son Corrie x.”

The airman, from Dunfermline in Fife, disappeared after going out in Bury St Edmunds with friends from RAF Honington, where he was based.

Corrie, whose 24th birthday was on Saturday, September 16, was last seen on CCTV at 3.24am on September 24, 2016, in the town centre.

The police investigation into Corrie’s disappearance has focussed on the possibility that he climbed into a bin behind a row of shops and was killed while being transported in a bin lorry.

Police spent 20 weeks searching Milton Landfill and more than £1.2million has been spent on the investigation.

Despite this, no evidence of where the RAF Honington serviceman is has been unearthed.
