A popular project in Ipswich which each year creates a choir from scratch and crafts it into a performance-ready outfit in six weeks is expanding into Woodbridge.

Singing Safari, run by experienced choirmaster Chris Rowbury, features people of all abilities rehearsing together over six Thursday evenings, ahead of a one-off performance.

There are no solos or sheet music but is instead taught by ear, and features different music styles from across the world coming together with harmonies.

It has been running in Ipswich since 2011, where dozens have taken part.

This year, the project will run in Woodbridge, starting from Thursday from 7.30pm at the Methodist Church.

The grand performance will then take place on Saturday, March 24 at St Mary’s Church.

It is £35 and open for anyone aged 16-80, regardless of ability.
