SINGLE mum Hailey Balaam, has been left with no money after her purse was stolen in broad daylight.

The 20-year-old had just cashed her income support book at the post office in Tower Ramparts, Ipswich, and was shopping in town with her 20-month-old daughter, Bethany.

"I was in Peacocks and I noticed a man behaving suspiciously and he made me feel very uncomfortable. Next thing I know, I turned my back for a split second and when I turned back my purse and the man had gone.

"I went straight to the police station and as I was walking there the same man started walking next to me and then he turned off before I got to the police station. I went out in a police car to see if we could see the man but he was nowhere to be seen," she said.

Miss Balaam, of Cambridge Drive, Ipswich, had about £100 in her purse and store cards.
