Woman in hospital, man in custody, after car collides with tree in Ipswich

A woman is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after a car collided with a tree and overturned in Yarmouth Road, Ipswich.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 11.20pm on Sunday night.

Three fire crews from Ipswich East and Princes Street stations were also called to the scene.

A female passenger was trapped in the vehicle when emergency services arrived.

She was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and remains in custody this morning.
