THERE'S a chance to see some top quality basketball in Felixstowe tomorrow, as the resort's sports centre launches its new team.
Brackenbury Sports Centre is hosting the Suffolk Basketball Roadshow with top clubs from all over the county displaying their skills between 11am and 6pm.
The day marks the launch of the Brackenbury Bears, which has been formed following a partnership involving Suffolk Coastal council's sports development staff, local schools, Active Sports and the Suffolk Basketball Association.
The Bears have made rapid progress over the last few weeks after coaching from Kevin Reeve and Line Brodie.
Other teams competing for honours at the centre in High Road East will include Stowmarket Slammers, Haverhill Heat, Bury Bulldogs, Framlingham, BT Jets (Ipswich), and Holbrook Eagles.
Also on hand to provide encouragement will be locally based Colchester United Basketball Club, National League players, Femi Ariyo, Nick Drane and the seven foot tall Tendai Simbai.
Nick, roadshow manager, said: "The aim is to take basketball to new people and new areas in Suffolk and further events are planned over the coming months."
