Snappers focus on the lakes

PHOTOGRAPHING National Trust sites and the Lake District will be the topic for camera enthusiasts in Felixstowe this month.

The Felixstowe Photographic Society meets on March 7 at 7.

PHOTOGRAPHING National Trust sites and the Lake District will be the topic for camera enthusiasts in Felixstowe this month.

The Felixstowe Photographic Society meets on March 7 at 7.30pm at The Guide Headquarters, Deben High School, Garrison Lane, when Derek Gibb will be giving a presentation.

As well as the NT and lakes, he will also focus on Great Dixter and the Trebah Gardens.

Also at the meeting, the results of the print and slide competition Marine Craft, judged by club president, Stephen Cook, will be announced, and entries invited for the next monthly competition, with the subject, Leisure.

The results of the January open print and slide competition, judged by Hubert Smith, were: Colour Print Pot, 1 Dennis Lumkin, 2 Deborah Stones. Cosgrove Cup (monochrome prints), 1 Dennis Lumkin, 2 Brian Waring. Colour Trophy (slides), 1 Barry Peacock, 2 Ron Cullum.

On March 21, the club will enjoy a slide presentation by guest speaker Anna Meek, of Norfolk, entitled Marathon Madness.

Anna is an "A" Panel East Anglian Federation photographic judge and lecturer, and a keen member of Ipswich and District Photographic Society.
