Superbowl UK opens in Ipswich’s Buttermarket in a fortnight’s time – here’s a sneak preview of what to expect when it opens.

The new venue, next to Empire Cinema, will be packed full with family entertainment by the time the doors open on Thursday, March 29.

It will include 12 ten-pin bowling lanes, a Sega amusement arcade, separate soft play areas for toddlers and children and ‘Ninja Tag Active’ - a competitive assault course aimed at teenagers.

Ipswich will be the first Superbowl UK in the country to include this exciting new Ninja Tag course.

The team started transforming the space just 14 weeks ago and are now putting the final lick of paint before the grand opening.

Kate Quaintance-Blackford, Director of Superbowl UK, said she was excited to open its doors to the public.

“This is the really exciting stage – I can’t wait for people come in,” she said.

“We are not just ten pin bowling, we are a family entertainment centre.

“We have bowling, soft play the ninja tag, amusements, a bar and a diner – six activities all under one roof.

“The Buttermarket will be a great destination for the whole family.”

Superbowl UK is a family-run business, having started as a joint venture seven years ago between Mrs Quaintance-Blackford and her brothers Mark and Paul.

“This will be our seventh centre we have opened and we have another six signed which will open over the next two years.

“We all have families, my children are very young but my elder brother’s eldest is 18. “We think to ourselves ‘what would our children enjoy doing, and what would we like to do with them’.

“We have something for everyone – from babies to older people.”

The venue also includes a bar selling a range of beers, wines and spirits and a restaurant serving classics such as burger and chips as well as healthier snacks.

Superbowl UK Ipswich will be open 364 days a year, only closing on Christmas Day, and will be open from 9am to midnight every day.

Daniel Myatt, marketing manager at Superbowl UK, said the centre was a great way of keeping kids active. “We call it exercise in disguise,” he said.
