A PUBLIC inquiry into the controversial SnOasis development has been put back a day by the planning inspector.

The inquiry had been due to begin on Tuesday January 23 but will now start on Wednesday January 24.

The £320 million proposed development for the former cement works and quarry area at Great Blakenham includes a 475 metre ski slope, a golf course, an ice rink casino, nightclub, hotel, railway station and 420 homes.

The plans were given the green light by Mid Suffolk District Council but have been referred to the planning inspectorate after the secretary of state for communities and local government ruled that the proposals raised issues of greater than local importance.
