While Suffolk has avoided the very worst of the weather, snow blizzards have swept across the west of England and Wales causing havoc.

Several hundred Blues fans will be making the trip to south Wales for Town's game at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow - but they will be hoping the snow and ice which has blanketed the area's motorways clears.

The M4 - which runs from the M25 all the way to Swansea - has been hit by the weather and was reduced to one lane last night after a lorry jack-knifed after skidding on the ice.

Snow fell in Norfolk today, while a brief flurry dropped in parts of Suffolk.

But while Suffolk is unlikely to see any more, weather experts are warning the county's residents to wrap up warm.

The bitter chill which has descended on the county looks set to stay for up to two weeks, potentially making this winter the coldest for 18 years.

Evening Star weatherman Ken Blowers said: “There will be a hard frost tonight, with temperatures falling to 26F/-3C.

“Tomorrow will be bright and sunny with temperatures hovering at about 39F/4C.”

He said there was the possibility of a snow shower on Sunday.

Mr Blowers added: “The UK has seen two lots of snow and each time it's largely missed East Anglia.

“There is no sign of the weather warming up and some computer models indicate this will go on for one or two weeks more.

“That would make this winter the coldest since 1991.”
