POOR weather conditions are causing problems on Suffolk's major roads this evening - with rail routes also expected to be hit tomorrow.

Suffolk police said they are extremely busy with calls from across the county.

There are major problems on the A14 at the Orwell Bridge near Ipswich as well as congestion on the A12 near Capel St Mary, where there has been a series of minor accidents.

Inspector Adrian Calton from Suffolk Constabulary said: “There are delays on the A12 and A14 and it is mainly due to the amount of snow that has fallen in a small space of time. The gritters are out and trying to get people moving as soon as possible.”

Emergency services were also called to a single-vehicle collision outside Dale Farm in Wantisden near Woodbridge at 8.11pm.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free a casualty and the incident was over by 8.45pm.

National Express East Anglia said this evening that some trains between London Liverpool Street and East Anglia will not run tomorrow.
