The main roads through Manningtree, Cattawade, Brantham and Tattingstone were all clear although it had begun to snow lightly.
The nearer to Ipswich motorists got, the lighter the snow. Wherstead and the hill by the ski slope were clear and at 8am residents in the south of Ipswich were still waiting to see snowfall.
