The parish council is looking for nominations for worthy people to be able to join in with the celebrations when the royal party visits Ipswich in July.

Letters have been sent to councils across the country giving their residents the chance to see the Queen.

Council clerk Lynne Lodge said: "We are looking for people who have contributed to the community in a voluntary way."

It may be a young person who has been involved in the community or someone who has been giving up their time for a cause for the last 50 years – everyone will be considered.

Nominations, including a brief note about the nominee need to be with the parish council by the beginning of April.

Write to Lynn Lodge at Martlesham Parish Council, Parish Room, Felixstowe Road, Martlesham, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4PB.
