Huge crowds packed Ipswich’s Christchurch Park to enjoy the town’s annual Guy Fawkes night spectacular.

As well as celebrating the Gunpowder Plot, the park was alive with the undead as ghosts and ghouls roamed the park – encouraged by organisers to dress up again in their Halloween outfits.

This year the event – organised by the 11th Ipswich Scout Group – had the theme Fireworks and Theatre in the Park: A Guy Fawkes Comedy.

The Catesby Catastrophe – presented in the Horrible Histories style – detailed the events of 1605 and the actions of Guy Fawkes during the failed plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Following the play, the Guy Fawkes procession made its way from the Reg Driver Centre to the bonfire ready for the fireworks, set as always to musical accompaniment.

There was also performances from The Emma Dodd School of Performing Arts and Just Jay Dance.
