A MAN arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the neck in Ipswich was today released on police bail.

A MAN arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the neck in Ipswich was today released on police bail.

The 25-year-old had been held on suspicion of attempted murder following the attack on May 27.

The man, who was arrested at Ipswich Police Station on June 11, has been bailed to return on July 11 pending further enquiries.

The arrest followed investigations into the stabbing of 19-year-old Matthew Buckman from Kesgrave, which took place at around 1.45am in an alleyway off Upper Brook Street.

Police said Mr Buckman was involved in an altercation with two men and received a number of injuries, including a stab wound to the neck.

Damian Brauer, 20, of Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, was arrested on May 30 and was subsequently charged with attempted murder on June 1.

The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in Addenbrooke's Hospital, although his condition is said to be improving.
