POLICE are investigating after three people were reported to have been shot and a man stabbed to death in Ipswich today.

It is thought four separate investigations are underway after several hours of violence around a nightclub in the town centre.

A firearm was found in The Village car park behind Zest, off West End Road, and a large area around the scene was cordoned off by police.

Police sealed off the Princes Street entrance opposite the railway station down to where it meets Grafton Way at the fire station.

The entrance to Commercial Road heading towards Princes Street was also sealed off at the Punch and Judy pub near to the Novotel roundabout. Part of West End Road was also believed to have been sealed off.

Glanville Close in Kesgrave was also blocked off by police. Officers' cars were reported to be stopping people entering or leaving the road.
