STANSTED airport was the scene of an emergency landing today for a flight carrying holidaymakers from the UK to Cyprus.
The Thomson flight from Newcastle to Larnaca was forced to land after reports of a “haze” in the cabin.
Emergency slides were used to evacuate the plane and all 154 passengers and seven crew were unharmed.
The flight landed safely at 9.35am and ambulance and fire crews were called as a precaution.
A spokeswoman for the airline said investigations were currently underway to establish what had caused the haze but no-one had suffered any ill effects while on board.
