A DOG lover from Ipswich has joined this year's Young Kennel Club training camp, to train both owners and dogs.

Eleanor Hullis, 13, from Croft Street, Ipswich, and her dogs Jalli Hera Superstar and Earendil Evening Star, this week joined over 80 children and 180 dogs for this year's event in Nottinghamshire.

Young members trained in canine disciplines such as agility, flyball, heelwork to music, ringcraft, obedience and grooming.

Newark showground hosted the Young Kennel Club training camp for people aged between 8 and 25.

Caroline Kisko, secretary of the Kennel Club said: "The Kennel Club intends to continue to invest and provide opportunities for young people to compete and develop in the world of dogs, because the young canine enthusiasts of today will be the responsible dog owners and canine protectors for tomorrow."

The event gave dog lovers the chance to not just improve their dog's skills, but their own organisational skills as well.
