ARCADE Fire, Damien Rice and The Good the Bad and the Queen will be heading to Suffolk this summer for what has been promised to be the most spectacular festival of 2007.

They were named as the headlining acts at this year's Latitude Festival, at Henham Park, near Southwold, at a launch party in London last night.

The award winning festival will be returning for its second outing between July 12 and 15.

Melvin Benn, managing director of Meanfiddler, organisers of the event, said: “Latitude is the most exciting and eclectic festival in Britain, or should I say in Europe, or even in the world.

“We're going into year two, which is probably the hardest year. Last year we promised everything and people came and saw and they now know what they like.

“The second year comes with expectations from the critics, the artists, the bands, ourselves and the fans who demanded Latitude be brought back - but this year we've got an amazing festival in store.”

Magic Numbers are also expected to be at the event and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts have also announced their involvement with the festival.

There will also be comedy tents, cabaret, a men's burlesque workshop and Bollywood dancing.
