A TRIO of youths with 60 previous convictions between them have been sent to custody for beating up and robbing a young man in a YMCA room.

Daniel Allen, 17, of Undercliff Road, Felixstowe; David Elson, 17, of Pearcroft Road, Ipswich, and Christopher Long, 15, of Selkirk Road, Ipswich, all pleaded guilty to robbery.

However, Judge Holt allowed The Evening Star to identify them, saying each defendant had appalling records and it was in the public interest for their names to be publicised.
