Every day we come across people who go above and beyond their call of duty to do something that is truly extraordinary.

Be it a carer who works tirelessly to improve the lives of others, a member of the emergency services who put themselves in danger to save a life or even a sports player who makes our county proud with their determination and will to succeed.

The Stars of Suffolk Awards is your chance to say thank you those people and to sing the praises of all our unsung heroes who deserve to be honoured.

Terry Hunt, EADT/Star editor, said: “There are so many people in Suffolk who do such amazing things – and we want to hear their stories! Quite often, remarkable people don’t realise just how exceptional they are – they just get on with their lives, not expecting any praise or special recognition.

“Well, we believe they should be recognised, so that’s why we need lots and lots of nominations. Let’s make our judges’ task really, really tough!’’

This year we will have 14 categories including team of the year, volunteer of the year and young person of the year, as well as the overall Star of Suffolk award.

The judges will review the nominations and invite the three finalists and their families along to the award ceremony, which will take place at Wherstead Park in November.

Do you know someone who is worthy of being one of our Stars of Suffolk?

Visit our webpage and nominate them today. All entries must be in by October.
