The clairvoyant has become less than a medium over the last 18 months preparing for a marathon task in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

The 46-year-old mum of three has lost six stone since last year thanks to a worthy cause and tonnes of determination.

Now Mrs Carr, who lives in Old Rectory Close, Barham, is planning to complete a sponsored run from Felixstowe railway station to the hospice in Foxhall Road - that's nearly 13 gruelling miles.

And to add to the magnitude of the task, she will be running on titanium rods inserted into her left leg after a car accident four years ago.

The tireless fundraiser has already given thousands to various causes through her regular charity clairvoyant evenings in and around Ipswich, but she hopes to go that extra mile for EACH.

Eight-and-a-half stone Mrs Carr said: “I'm only five feet tall so I was quite a hefty 14-and-a-half stone.

“It wasn't easy because I had never done, or been inclined to do, much exercise! It was only when I started running that I realised exercise keeps weight off.

“There have been trials and tears along the way, but everything's coming together now.”

Mrs Carr started training for the run in May and is hoping to finish the 13 miles in just an hour-and-a-half. So far she's raised £600 but hopes to top a grand for her favourite charity.

She said: “I have a soft spot for the children's hospice. It is equally as important as any other at this time of year.”
