BHS staff in Ipswich have still not been told when the store will close, the Star understands.

The troubled high-street retailer went into administration in April, threatening the jobs of 11,000 people nationwide. Despite efforts to save the company a rescue deal could not be arranged.

It was reported over the weekend that administrator Duff & Phelps will announce on Monday that the 114 BHS stores still in operation will close by August 20. Some stores have already closed around the country.

The Ipswich branch remains open and the Star understands that staff, including senior staff, have not been told when they will close.

Last month, closing-down sale signs were put up, saying all stock must be sold.

BHS was one of the UK’s most recognised high street brands for decades. But after the turn of the century it struggled to compete against value fashion rivals and online shopping.
