TWO fire crews were called to Ipswich town centre after smoke filled the ground floor of Primark's department store.
Eyewitnesses said they saw smoke in the ground floor the Westgate Street store at 3.40pm on Monday and the shop was quickly evacuated.
It is believed the fire developed in a ventilation shaft on the ground floor.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the store to locate the cause of the blaze.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
