The Lakeside cafe in Onehouse near Stowmarket will be closing its doors this weekend, owner Helen Goldsmith and sister Heather Moore have revealed.

The cafe, which is known for its “epic” full English breakfasts and the warm welcome customers receive, will close on Sunday after six successful years.

The Onehouse cafe has become a base for bikers from around the UK, with the cafe regularly putting on events for biker groups to meet up and have a bite to eat.

As well as providing food and drink the cafe has often hosted live music nights and charity events since it opened in 2012.

The Stowmarket community have expressed their sadness over the closure, which was announced on Facebook.

One saddened customer Sue Smith commented “I am so sorry to hear this. My daughter and I have enjoyed having lovely breakfasts here over the years. A sad loss for Stowmarket. Hope Helen, Heather and your lovely staff all find alternative employment.”

Simon Arnold said “I’ll certainly miss it as will my dog Chrissy.”

Hundreds of comments flooded in with many wishing the two owners the best for the future.

The reason for the closure is currently unknown, however the team behind the cafe have promised to keep customers updated on any further developments.
