STAFF at Stowmarket's ICI paint factory will have to wait months before their employers confirm the future of their jobs, the company said today.

The chemical and paints giant today announced plans to cut 2,300 jobs from its workforce over the next five years.

A spokesman for ICI said the majority of the job losses would be outside the UK but added it would not be able to confirm the Stowmarket factory jobs were safe for “several months”.
