Suffolk Libraries have launched a bumper programme of events to entertain children across the county during half term.

Special events being laid on for the week include an outdoor arts performance in Broomhill Park on May 29 and an exclusive screening of The Railway Children performed by York Theatre Royal is to be hosted at Southwold Arts Centre on June 1.

Matinee and evening showings will be hosted at the venue.

Children who are members of Chantry Library are being invited to channel their inner archaeologists and historians by handling Anglo-Saxon replicas and trying on costumes on May 30 from 2pm-4.30pm.

Youngsters aged five to 12 can make medieval-themed crafts – even creating their own castles – at Felixstowe Library from 10am-12pm on May 31.
