Hundreds of bins that were not collected in Ipswich yesterday have now been emptied by Ipswich Borough Council.

Households on eight roads in the Nacton area of Ipswich were left will brimming bins after the Borough Council were unable to empty them.

A broken down bin truck caused the collection, due on Thursday, to be missed.

A Borough Council spokesperson said: “We apologise for the inconvenience as we were due to pick up the bins on Thursday afternoon. However, we are back this morning to collect them.”
