A SUFFOLK boxer and a former Miss Essex are just two of the housemates taking part in a new revamped version of reality show Big Brother.

Instead of the usual fame-hungry wannabes, the 12 contestants competing for the £50,000 prize in Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack have been chosen because they each have a gift.

They include 19-year-old Olympic boxing hopeful Anthony Ogogo, from Lowestoft, and 21-year-old beauty queen Jade Eden, who was Miss Essex in 2006.

Anthony, who boxes under the name “Beautiful Brown Suga” won gold at the Junior Olympics in 2004, was named world under-17 champion in 2005 and hopes to represent Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and London in 2012.

Jade, who was also last year's Miss Winchester, has been a member of Mensa since the age of four and won a scholarship to a school for gifted children.

Other housemates include a classical musician, an internet entrepreneur, the chairman of the Scottish Youth Parliament, a racing driver, a fashion designer and a brother-and-sister circus duo.

The new series, which will feature a group of famous faces in the role of Big Brother and setting tasks for the housemates, launched last night on Channel 4.

Little Britain's Matt Lucas will be the first star to take control of proceedings.
