A charity is running courses for people over the age of 60 to help them build confidence in using the internet safely.

ActivLives is offering four “internet fundamentals” sessions from 10am to 12noon on Thursdays from April 19 to May 10 at the University of Suffolk in Ipswich.

The first workshop will be an introduction to the basics, the second will be on emailing, the third will show people how to find information online and the last will cover internet security.

Steve Barnes, vice chairman of trustees at ActivLives, said “The course aims to give people a good understanding of how the Internet works, how to use it and how to stay safe. The style is fun and interactive. There will be role-play games, hands-on exercises, and quizzes to make it engaging and memorable, and there will be plenty of chances to ask questions.”

Sessions are £5 each and to book place call: 01473 345350.
