A COMMUNITY police officer in Eye has won an award it was announced today. PC Jon Eaves, who works in Eye, has won the Sheepshanks Trophy awarded annually to the police officer of staff member judged to have given the most outstanding service to the community.

PC Jon Eaves, who works in Eye, has won the Sheepshanks Trophy awarded annually to the police officer of staff member judged to have given the most outstanding service to the community. PC Eaves also won the trophy back in 1998 for his services to the communities in Bramford and Claydon.
Mid Suffolk district inspector Les King said: “PC Eaves is an excellent role model for the Suffolk Constabulary.
“He is committed to the role as a community police officer and serves with dedication and a real desire to improve the quality of life for all.
“He is popular, approachable and his enthusiasm and professionalism shines through.”
PC Eaves, who was initially nominated for the award by Thorndon Parish Council, will receive the award in a ceremony on March 14.
