A DERELICT Suffolk factory went up in flames today - just hours after a smaller fire.

TWO fires in a derelict Suffolk factory are today being treated as suspicious.

The factory at Bury St Edmunds' Direct Table Foods, Lamdin Road, was partially destroyed by flames just hours after firefighters had battled a smaller fire.

Crews were called at 11am yesterday and found the two-storey building, measuring 100metres by 100metres, 50per cent engulfed by flames. It had partially collapsed.

Eight crews attended the fire and spent two hours bringing it under control.

At 10pm on Saturday, firefighters spent around 30minutes extinguishing a blaze in the same building.
