INTERNET lothario Jonathan Price is awaiting sentencing after using a dating website for ‘sugar daddies’ to fleece women out of thousands of pounds.

The 41-year-old serial conman, formerly of High Street, Coddenham, was jailed for four years at Ipswich Crown Court in 2009, for a string of deceptions throughout Suffolk.

Now Price is due to face a further lengthy jail term when he is sentenced later this month after duping three women looking for love through sugardaddies.com.

The sentencing will take place just four years and a month after he was imprisoned at Ipswich Crown Court on March 13, 2009 for eight thefts and eight counts of making a false representation. The offences occurred between January and October 2008 when he was living in Coddenham. It is understood they involved trying to pass fraudulent cheques.

He committed the offences in Bacton, Stowmarket, Chattisham, Needham Market, Capel St Mary, Leiston, Tostock and Coddenham.

Price is reported to have met one of the women he deceived during his latest scam before being jailed in Ipswich.

After being released from prison part way through his sentence, Price moved to Killerby, near Darlington, where he continued to target his unsuspecting victims.

Over a three-year period he told the women a succession of lies which included him being a multi-millionaire, having property overseas, and owning a speedboat.

Price also said he had served in the SAS and is reported to have claimed to be a friend of the Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who died last month.

Using fake paperwork Price convinced his victims he was worth a fortune.

After gaining the trust of his victims he asked for loans using false security, as he claimed to be having cash flow problems due to problems with overseas accounts.

On one occasion, in a bid to disentangle himself from a relationship, Price is said to have claimed he was suffering from terminal cancer.

In total Price duped the women, their parents, and businesses out of more than £180,000.

He pleaded guilty to a series of fraud offences and a theft when he appeared before Teesside Crown Court last month.

Sentencing was adjourned until April 29 for reports to be prepared.
