A MAN accused of committing robberies across the county has appeared at court in Ipswich.

Jamie Campbell, 23, is charged with committing a total of five robberies – in Ipswich, Stowmarket, Needham Market and Capel St Mary.

He also faces other charges including driving while disqualified, going equipped and taking without consent.

Proceedings for a robbery at Alldays in Needham Market have already started against Campbell.

At magistrates court in Ipswich yesterday > a total of 14 new charges were put to the defendant.

Campbell, formerly of High Street, Onehouse, Great Finborough, has yet to enter pleas to any of the charges.

It is alleged that on July 19 Campbell, who was represented in court by Kevin McCarthy, committed a robbery in Capel St Mary. On the same day in Ipswich it is alleged that he drove dangerously, whilst disqualified and had no motoring insurance. He is also accused of taking without consent on the same date.

Three days earlier Campbell is said to have committed a robbery at the Co-op in Bramford Lane, Ipswich. He is also charged with going equipped on the same day.

David Taylor, crown prosecutor, outlined details of other charges facing Campbell.

He is charged with robbery in Ipswich on July 25, and in Stowmarket on July 13. On the same day he is accused of driving while disqualified and with no insurance.

On July 22 Campbell is accused of driving while disqualified and with no insurance in Capel St Mary. On the same day he is accused of taking without consent in Colchester.

He was remanded in custody to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court on Tuesday > and Ipswich Crown Court on October 18.
