A SUFFOLK man is one of two Brits being held in a Spanish jail following their arrests in connection with a £4 million cocaine haul, Spanish police said today.

Martin Blum, 38, of Newmarket, and Anthony White, 59, of London, were arrested in Madrid on July 4 after 60 kilos of cocaine were discovered in Mr Blum's horsebox.

Spanish police said the pair had been held in the Algete district of Madrid and were probably heading back to England after a trip to the Costa del Sol.

Police confirmed that the pair appeared before a judge on July 8 and have been remanded in custody.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Two British nationals were arrested in Madrid on 4 July on drugs charges.

"Next of kin have been informed and we are offering all the assistance we can in dealing with the matter."
