A green campaign is taking a retro approach to recycling.

The Suffolk Waste Partnership has adopted a 1950s theme to communicate a modern day message in a bid to reduce confusion about recycling plastics.

The “Plastics - know your place!” campaign will make clear which plastics can be recycled at home, which should be taken to the local recycling centre, and which cannot be recycled at all.

Peter Stevens, partnership chairman, said; “Currently 50% of all the recyclable plastics in Suffolk end up in landfill. We hope this campaign will inspire our residents to help improve our recycling rate, help save money and make Suffolk an even Greener County.”

Plastics recycling roadshows are being held in Felixstowe, Ipswich, Sudbury and Lowestoft over the coming weeks. Find out more by visiting www.greensuffolk.org.
