BURY St Edmunds man Glenn Webb was today due in court to face firearms and ammunition charges, after guns were allegedly seized from a car on the M11.

Webb, 32, of Beck Row in the town, John Cavey, 49, from Newmarket and Flynn Prevost, 44, of Epping all stand charged with possessing firearms, conspiracy to import firearms, possessing ammunition, and failing to declare goods to Customs and Excise.

They were due to appear before Bexley Heath magistrates today.

The prosecution say 12 armed officers from the National Crime Squad stopped a car at a busy junction on the M11 at Harlow in rush-hour traffic on Tuesday and recovered nine Glock pistols from its boot, with 200 rounds of ammunition.

It is alleged the Glock pistols were contained in cargoes of frozen chicken and were then taken out of the lorry and transferred to the boot of the car.
