A man has been arrested for a public order offence following reports of a disturbance at a Suffolk fast food restaurant.
Suffolk police received reports of a man causing trouble at the McDonald’s near Fiveways roundabout, Barton Mills, earlier this evening.
A police spokesman said the man was behaving in a disorderly manner and appeared drunk.
“He was stealing chips, jumping over the counter, and generally being a nuisance,” the spokesman added.
“He is then reported to have left to go to the Shell garage next door.”
Officers located the suspect, who was then said to have violently resisted arrest.
“Police officers subdued him with assistance from members of the public,” the spokesman added.
“He has been detained for a public order offence.”
Mildenhall Police tweeted a message of thanks to the members of public who helped.
“We would like to say a tremendous #thankyou to the selfless members of public who assisted PCs 56 & 139 before their backup arrived,” they tweeted. “You’re amazing.”
