The Jane's Police Review Gala Awards ceremony honoured officers who went beyond the call of duty.

Suffolk's Pc Richard Wright had been nominated for community police officer of the year for his work with children. But the award went to Northern Ireland's Inspector Noel Rogan.

The Ipswich vice liaison team, made up of Pc Janet Humphrey and Pc Gemma Fisher, had also been nominated for the diversity in action award. However that prize went to Avon and Somerset Police's special branch community engagement team which set up a Muslim awareness week to show people the truth about Islam.
