A Suffolk police constable arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and breaching confidential data laws has been re-bailed until September 4.

The 45-year-old woman, who is understood to be based in the Suffolk Coastal area, was arrested while at work on June 16.

She was originally released on police bail until Wednesday of this week. However, the suspect has now been re-bailed, pending further enquiries.

The officer is currently suspended from duty.

A spokeswoman said the arrest had been made in connection with offences under section 55 of the Data Protection Act.
