OLD Felixstowe post office has been voted best multiple post office branch in the London and South East of England region in nationwide awards.

Today its staff will be presented today with a plaque and a cheque for £750 after winning a regional award.

Eighty branches were shortlisted for 15 awards – run by Tates Ltd – in the region and a panel of judges chose Old Felixstowe post office as the overall winner in the multiple post office category, with Stoke Park post office, Ipswich, as the runner-up.

As a regional winner, Old Felixstowe post office branch will receive a prize of £750 and a winner's wall plaque. It now goes forward to the national judging to find the best main post office branch in the UK.

Simon Storer, Royal Mail Group senior external relations manager and chairman of the judging panel, said: "We know that post office branches are valued by their customers and Old Felixstowe post office demonstrates the very best in professionalism and customer service.
