Suffolk Show 2017: Crowds gather at Trinity Park for county’s ‘biggest day out’

The Suffolk Show 2017 is officially underway at Trinity Park – with perfect weather predicted for both days.

More than 90,000 people are expected to enjoy the event, organised by the Suffolk Agricultural Association.

‘Suffolk’s biggest day out’ takes at Trinity Park on Wednesday and Thursday – boasting a bigger and better Flower and Garden Show, an impressive collection of vintage tractors, traditional fairground rides, and plenty of free have-a-go activities for all ages in the Suffolk Skills Zone, Sports Village and Military Zone.

Other family-friendly highlights include performances from Atkinson Action Horses – the equine stars of the BBC’s Poldark – wowing crowds with high-energy stunts in the Grand Ring.

More than a hundred artisan food and drink producers will showcase some of the best produce in the region, and there will be a chance to pick up the latest country fashion on Fifth Avenue.

As always, animal attractions are also set to draw in the crowds, with international show jumping and traditional livestock competitions, including red poll cattle, Suffolk sheep and Suffolk punch horses.

The Harris family, who arrived early from Kesgrave, said: “It’s a fun family day out, great for the kids. We got here nice and early to beat the traffic and it looks great so far.

Suffolk Show goers are in for two days of dry and warm weather, according to forecasts.

Meanwhile, new arrangements are in place at Trinity Park in a bid to improve traffic flow into parking areas.
