Tractor Boy was left ruing an unlucky slip which he believes cost him the hotly-anticipated Mascot Derby.
This newspaper’s beloved mascot, who came out of retirement for the big race in the President’s Ring, compared the fall at the penultimate bend to Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip which cost Liverpool the Premier League in 2014.
It allowed Super Sheep, of the Suffolk Young Farmers, to claim an uncontested victory.
Tractor Boy recovered from the face-plant to finish third, replicating his 2015 effort.
He said: “I am angry and upset. I would have won if I didn’t slip over. Now I know how Steven Gerrard felt.”
Tractor Boy, the 2015 Ipswich Town Open Day Mascot Derby champion, qualified despite crash-landing on the barrel of hays in the semi-final.
He added: “I took that penultimate bend too sharply perhaps. It is frustrating. I came out of retirement for this. I feel buoyed, but confused at everything.”
