POLICE are appealing for information after a Suffolk store was robbed on Christmas Eve.

Two men entered the One Stop Shop in Sands Lane, Oulton Broad, at about 8.15pm and while one threatened two female shop workers, the second collected items from the till area.

They made off in a vehicle, believed to be a red Vauxhall Astra, with a quantity of cash and assorted makes of cigarettes and tobacco.

The shop workers were left shocked and distressed by the incident but were unhurt.

One of the men is described as short, of slight build, with a Scottish accent and was wearing dark trousers and a waist length jacket.

The other is described as about 6ft tall, of large build and quietly spoken. He was wearing a light hooded top, dark trousers and was carrying a dark coloured hold-all.

Detective Sergeant Terry Jones of Lowestoft CID said: "We would appeal to anyone with information about this crime to call us.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may know the whereabouts of the C-registration red Vauxhall Astra which we believe was used by the men and anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching this description on Christmas Eve.

"We would also like to speak to anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident."
