Blue skies and sizzling temperatures.

Blue skies and sizzling temperatures.

That’s what residents can expect for the rest of the week, according to the Met Office, after temperatures soared to 23C in Ipswich yesterday.

Parks in Ipswich were flooded with sun lovers who were taking their last chance to top up their tans.

The warmest area in Suffolk was Wattisham where temperatures reached 23.5C.

The average temperature for this time of year in Suffolk is 18.6C.

Forecasters are now predicting the weather should get even better with a top temperature of 25C expected tomorrow and 26C on Friday.

Charlie Powell, a Met forecaster, said: “There should be high temperatures right up until the weekend and there shouldn’t be a change until the start of next week.”

The weather is expected to be fine and dry up until Sunday with temperatures expected to be around 24C on Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures are still expected to be around the 20s as we go into next week but they should begin to tail off during the middle of next week with temperatures on Wednesday expected to be around 16C.
