A SOFTLY spoken pervert indecently assaulted a woman as she walked home from a Suffolk pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened in a car park at the junction of Wings Road and Back Street.

The slim, curly-haired victim had been walking back from the Half Moon public house at Sharpes Corner between 10 and 10.30pm yesterday when a white man wearing dark jeans and jacket approached her from behind and asked if he could walk her home.

When she said "no", the attacker, who had a deep voice and was aged in his early thirties, grabbed her round the waist, causing her to fall on her face and then indecently assaulted her during the struggle.

The victim managed to struggle free and ran back to the pub where the police were called.

Anyone with information should call Mildenhall CID on 01284 774276 or to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
