COASTGUARDS scoured the banks of the River Orwell last night after reports a suicidal man was in the area of the bridge.
Suffolk Police were called by the family of a man in his early 20s at 7.10pm after he made remarks which made them fear for his safety.
Harwich RNLI lifeboat and Holbrook and Felixstowe coastguard crews searched underneath the Orwell Bridge and either side of the river.
The search was called of at 9.20pm when the man was found at an address in Clapgate Lane, Ipswich.
