POLICE and trading standards are investigating after hundreds of would-be holidaymakers lost out on their dream breaks.
Ipswich mother-of-three Mandy Carter lost out after paying for a £200 caravan break in Great Yarmouth through Golden Sands Holidays Limited, based at Beehive Lane, Chelmsford.
Mrs Carter's holiday plans turned into a nightmare when she discovered the day after she made a cash payment that the company had ceased operating.
The 36-year-old, of Felix Road, said: "I want to warn other people about what has happened. We have lost £200 and our holiday and we are on social security.
"I had to tell my three children it doesn't look like we are getting a holiday after all. They are gutted."
