SUFFOLK-based supermodel Claudia Schiffer has taken on a new assignment – this time for the Church of England.

Schiffer, who married film maker Matthew Vaughan at Shimpling near Long Melford last year, has given the diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich permission to use a wedding photograph in their annual review which is published today.

At the time of the wedding the pictures were kept secret because of a deal between the couple and a celebrity magazine.

"Given the secrecy that surrounded Ms Schiffer's marriage to film producer Matthew Vaughan in June 2002, I was thrilled when Claudia agreed to give us a picture of her special day to use in the magazine," said diocesan communications officer Nick Clarke.

The review of the year is the first to be produced by the Diocese.

"We wanted to produce an attractive, readable magazine that would illustrate the breadth of activities that Suffolk churches are involved in," said Mr Clarke.
